I just read an article about a young boy whose dog died and he was not sad. The reason for him not being sad was he said animals offer unconditional love and the reason their time on earth is shorter than a human's is because animals already know how to give unconditional love and humans need to learn this behavior so we need more time on earth and live longer.
Please make it a point everyday to do something nice for a fellow human being. We need love and experience pain as well. Maybe your kind jesture could make someone's day.
Think about your animal - they have never spent a dime on you, but they offer unconditional love everyday.
Kindness comes in small packages and does not cost any amount of money. A smile to a stranger, helping an elderly person, letting someone in front of you in traffic, offering a homeless person a kind word, helping a neighbor by bringing in their trash pail from the road when they are working, etc.
