Hemp used to be Kentucky's main cash crop. Hemp can be used to make virtually an unlimited amount of things using Hemp fiber and Hemp seed oil. everything from car seats, interior panels and carpets. to shoes, household curtains, furniture upholstery, clothes, packaging, paper, hard materials, containers, and the list goes on and on. Hemp oils are used by spas, massage therapists, skin care companies and the list goes on and on. Hemp fiber is extremely durable and long lasting. Hemp ropes that were made a century ago are still being used today. We have a responsibility to be more environmentally friendly and more active and conscience about the short and long term effects of pollution. especially pollution of one time use plastics and petroleum based materials that would take eons to degrade if ever. Lets take action and assume responsibility for our materials. Lets legalize the industrial use of Hemp and give rural Kentucky farmers the right to grow Hemp legally in an effort to stimulate the economy and save the rural farming way of life. small rural farms around central Kentucky are disappearing and long held traditions, skills and knowledge being lost. the legalization of Hemp would make a powerful statement that Kentucky is on the forefront of economic growth and diversification. fossil fuels are killing the environment and they are 100% unsustainable. Lets all make our voices heard and spread the word that extreme and decisive action is needed to turn the tides and save our oceans, lands, air and way of life. not only will Hemp provide strong, durable and long lasting materials but it would bring back hope and pride to rural farming areas that are in need of economic and agricultural diversification. Hemp can safely be grown (THC) free which is the active chemical in Marijuana that produces a mildly mood altering affect in marijuana users. Hemp is not a dirty word. Hemp is NOT marijuana. they are two different plants. law makers would have you believe that the growing of Hemp is illegal because of the simple fact that it is similar is appearance in some ways to the marijuana plant. Actually many believe the true reason Hemp is illegal is because the use of durable, versatile, and long lasting materials such as all natural Hemp would harm the profits of petroleum companies who make plastics and other materials which are inferior to Hemp. also if the general citizen could grow materials such as these in there back yard then why would people need to buy such things from large corporations. There are Millions of dollars spent every year in this country by large corporations to keep Hemp illegal. These large corporations are responsible for dumping there petroleum based by-products back into the oceans and environment one way or another. They have a vested interest in continuing this behavior. they are not in the all natural and eco friendly business they are in the money making business, the business of the bottom line profit margin. the business of keeping things the way they are so as not to upset the flow of profits to the stock holders. which side are YOU on? the side of the 99%? Joe public? the environment? YOUR bottom line? the environments bottom line? or there bottom line? do what you know is the right thing. it's ring side to the end of clean oceans, land, and air. the bell is about to be rung. it's the tipping point of right or wrong. which side do you want to be on? when is enough, enough? WHO WILL STAND AND DELIVER WITH ME? all it takes is to make your mark. make your mark on this planet. make your mark on this petition. our petition. thank you for your support!
