I believe along with thousands of others that pitbulls should be made legal in the UK! They are a happy,loving and wonderful breed of dog ! Any dog who is bought up the wrong way can be dangerous, but when bought up in a loving environment can give it back tenfold ! .
One of the reason pitbulls are illegal is because they are often used in illegal dog fighting . . . But in all actuality dog fighting still happens irriguardless of weather pitbulls are in the country or not . . . They just use other breeds !
Another reason is The UK Government, in consultation with various connected agencies such as the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), considers that pit bulls along with the other breeds are POTENTIALLY dangerous to other people, children and pets (as can any dog). To me this seems a ridiculous as any animal can be dangerous in the wrong hands .
There are thousands of pitbulls in need of loving homes and thousands of people who would love to be able to give them just that . . . And yet we can't because they are not legal in this country , so many pitbulls are put to sleep every year only because they were born 'The wrong breed'.
So i ask you too please please reconsider this law even if it means only people that are licenced can keep them .
