I on the Autistic Spectrum. I live part-time in supported living in Exeter.
One of my favourite pastimes was feeding the pigeons outside of Pret A Manger, the Pret pigeons. However, now I am not allowed to due to these wonderful and cute birds being classed as "pests". They have just as much right to live and live well as we do!!! I was going to give the Pret pigeons their Christmas lunch today, but got into some conversations about it not being allowed. Why should people like myself and others who love pigeons be deprived of this joy? I know the pigeons can get other food, but they might thrive because of this...
Pigeon problems can be dealt with be ensuring only limited feeding, keeping the cities and other areas cleaner, increasing fines for littering and improperly discarding food, as well as the use of humane pigeon spikes.
Please don't completely disallow myself and others from feeding the pigeons in Exeter!!!
