India is a big country with a diverse culture and the vast majority of the population here are igorant of animals rights and take them for granted.Cruelty towards animals are reported almost daily but none of the so called humans do care to raise a concern or standup against this evil. If it was a issue were some member of a particular community or so called weaker sections are involved most political parties and other organization jump into action, for political parties it's time to take advantage,but when it come to innocent animals or the voiceless there's none.Only a few people or NGO's stand up , but that doesn't suffice for this vast country. So many hit and run, so many other form of cruelty like starving ,abandoning etc.I'll narrate an incident that happend in a society i live in.
Chinnu is part of our society located in Bangalore, she had been here much before residents moved in.A playful and loving dog she is the common pet of the society. Recently she gave birth to five puppies , suddenly one day all the puppies vanished , i kept searching and later on learnt that Mr.Nagaraj the gardener of the society had thrown them out after giving a slum dweller 100 INR,Nagaraj also admitted he had done this at the behest of one Mr.Sandeep Mensez who is a known dog hater .I had questioned the slum dweller as well , he admitted he had thrown then after putting them together in a sack some 3 KMS away.
To my surprise i'm told to get this booked i mean for legal actions,there is a long process ,also they'll only get a paltry fine of 50 INR ie less than 1 USD ,for first time offense and a warning letter, and maybe 3 months prison for second offense, this seems to be unfair, if it was a human baby , what would have been the penalty? 100 INR?
Need some amendment to the laws so that fines are heavy ,penalties are strict and atleast not less than 1 year with non bailable option.Else their voices will never be heard.
It's time to change the laws, now or never ,Animals also have the right to live and nobody can cause harm to them.People who willingly cause harm to animals should be treated as criminals and criminal cases be registered against them.I have heard lot of noice wrt Human rights but never heard any voce wrt Animal rights.. are we still voiceless!!!
