Prosecute Owner of Dolton Animal Hospital Found With Dead and Emaciated Dogs

Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get the owner of an Animal Hospital in Dolton, Illinois severely prosecuted and stripped of his license for the horrid conditions that several dogs were found in his facility, in addition to the manager found guilty. This particular animal hospital was known for taking in stray dogs in the area but authorities had no idea that this was a death sentence for the animals. Such a place should not be in business and these people need to be held accountable!!! They want to slap them with a misdeanor!!  Really??  Felony charges needed!!!  At Least!!

Last week authorities were called to the Dolton Animal Hospital due to some outdoor violations that were reported and remedied but at the time no one was alerted to the conditions that existed within the building itself; that is until yesterday when an officer showed up with a stray dog. That was when the police discovered four deceased dogs in the basement of the facility and several other animals in deplorable health.

An animal hospital should be a place for animals to find safety, security and steps to good health. However, this hospital had four dead dogs in varying degrees of decay, a scared puppy and 10 others in various stages of emaciation, all within the basement of the facility, some in urine and feces soaked cages but all without any food or water.

There was extensive neglect going on in this animal hospital; many of the dogs, 14 in all, and one cat were found near death when they were rescued. Two of the 14 dogs had owners while the other 12 were strays.

Police have no idea why an animal hospital would neglect its animals. A hospital employee showed up at the scene and she was taken into custody for questioning. The veterinarian was not present. The Village of Dolton has had a long-time agreement with the hospital to drop off strays, even when the facility is closed. The hospital gets a fee from the village to take care of the strays; but they weren't caring for them at all!!!
