Change CKC and AKC Cropped Ear Breed Standards

In recent years, changes to the AKC and CKC Breed Standards have included breeds like the Rottweiler, to no longer have docked/cropped tails. However, breeds like American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, Doberman Pinscher, Boston Terrier, etc still have ear cropping as part of their breed standard. Many veterinarians dislike this and some serious complications and disadvantages come from ear cropping. Dogs may experience pain, infection and long healing times after the surgical cropping. Onset of inner ear infections and general unclenliness are both common with cropped ears. Orginally, ears were cropped so game/wildlife couldn't rip the dog's ears off, however, in what CKC or AKC event are dogs subjected to this anyways? It's pointless and an archaic practice and serves no purpose in today's modern show ring.
