      Why should an animal be killed because parents can’t take care of their kids? Issues like this have happened not just once but several times worldwide. They haven’t had to kill any animal until Harambe . Last week at a zoo in Cincinnati  a child climbed into a gorilla's cage because he wanted to “swim”, this issue caused a lot of talking in the media , people think that

The Parents had the fault because They weren’t watching over the child properly , and because of that it caused a death to an innocent animal.

  The impact on Harambe’s death affected a lot of people including the media , the zoo supervisors and volunteers. It affected because Gorillas are considered to be Gentle Giants according to his former caretaker , Harambe was a very gentle Gorilla and had no intentions of harm . Its also impacted the community because Harambe was a Crowd Favorite . Everyone was really sad when He had to go . The media spread around like crazy.  Facebook , Instagram etc was filled with memes and upset people talking about why Harambe’s death was unfair because the guardian wasn’t watching good care of the child .

Who is responsible for this? It’s based on opinion some might say , The 4 year old Childs Parents should be charged for Harambe’s death . People are calling for the mother to be charged or investigated for child negligence . They recently made a petition for the child’s mother named Child Protective Services to investigate why the mother wasn’t keeping an eye on the child when he jumped into the gorilla’s cage. Because The mother couldn’t control her son a almost extinct Gorilla is now dead. However This situation has happened before in zoos ,for example in 1986 the U.K zoo went through something similar When a 5 year old decided to Jump into the Gorilla’s pit to get a better look , Jambo the Gorilla in this incident Guarded the child so others wouldn’t hurt him . “I am forever thankful to Jambo as obviously it could have gone one or two ways. It was amazing how he protected me in that way.” (Metro.co.uk Levin Merrit) This is an example of how gorillas are Gentle animals but you have to have a mature reaction to incidents like this.

My Solution for this problem is to Charge the Parents , They should be fined at least  . I think it’s a good idea to bring child protective services into this case because If the parents failed at keeping the boy in check at a zoo , you never know how the parents care for the child at home. Another solution would be for Zookeepers to have more of a look out for extinct animals,  because if the uncaring mother couldn’t prevent it maybe one of the zookeepers could have.  Also the fences need to be more child proof so this won’t happen again .

   We can’t have parents leaving children unattended because it could happen again , Kids always find a way to get what they want and if a parent isn’t in control then it makes it easier for them to get into bad situations . It could also lead to another case with animals that are more endangered than gorillas . Harambe had no harm meaning ‘towards the child , Animals sometimes make  harm  because they feel scared or intimidated not because they are wild , it’s like they’re way of defending themselves . That’s why this is an important issue to address . We can’t have incidents like this happen because of irresponsible people !  No animal deserves to die because of our mistakes ! We need to take a stand for Animal rights , it’s an Important issue no one seems to care much about . what makes an animal’s life worth less than a person’s life ?

Animals have the same kind of emotions as us , imagine if it was us put in a cage feeling in danger and trying to protect ourselves , because of humans irresponsibilities a lot of animals have died including Harambe . That’s why I’m petitioning for Animal rights , to bring Justice to Harambe.
