Many of the seniors who have looked up to there older siblings or relatives have seen them graduate at methuen`s Nicholson stadium.For several decades many of the towns great events such as football games and the forth of July celebration have been located at this field.Not only is this place nostalgic for the members of the community many people find it more convenient to graduate here. The Tsongas arena would be a good place to graduate but the Methuen stadium is close enough for everybody to have their family see the event. Many people try to be prepared and look their best for this moment, having people drive in traffic for over thirty minutes could cause some people to be late or even make their family members reluctant to go. Many people have older family members and if graduation was held in Methuen this would eliminate the amount of stairs they would have to travel. Many generations have graduated at this stadium and it was only until last year due to the field being renovated the graduation was forced to be at the Tsongas area. This year we have a brand new beautiful field paid by our taxes that people are greatly looking forward to receive their diplomas on.What I`m trying to accomplish with this petition is to ask the school board to consider letting us have the graduation on the Nicholson field .Many people agree that they rather have the pride of graduating at such a nice field in the city they grew up in.
