Forever 21: End English Only Policy!

Forever 21 has enforced an "English Only" policy at their flagship store in San Francisco. Under this policy, employees who spoke Spanish to one another on break time or to a Spanish-speaking customer got in trouble. In fact, such employees often lost hours for doing so.

Sign this petition to tell Forever 21 to end this senseless and discriminatory policy.

As a customer of Forever 21, this policy makes me really angry. There are many Spanish-speaking customers and workers in California, and forcing employees to use English if they are more comfortable — or perhaps even limited to — using Spanish is hurtful and unhelpful. And despite the policy banning any non-English language, it was primarily Spanish-speaking employees who were reprimanded for violating the policy.

With San Francisco's diverse population and high tourist traffic, having multilingual employees on the floor is a huge benefit, not grounds for punishment. Forcing employees to use only English is intensely nationalistic, bordering on xenophobic and intolerable.

A lawsuit has been filed against them for discrimination in California. Let's show Forever 21 that we, their customers, want them to change the policy now! No need to go through a lawsuit, Forever 21 should just do the right thing!
