Scrap impossible new GSCE’s

After reading so many articles about the new GCSE’s getting extremely hard including revision for so many quotations and formulas to the point where teenagers about to take there GSCE’s are suffering mental heath, after reading an article from a school in London about the pressures students are facing it showed a real problem. It explained ‘ there has been two attempted suicides so far at our school as students feel isolated and are suffering ill health from the pressures of GCSE’s I have students coming to me on a lunch crying explaining how they are not good enough to pass the exams and I feel a hippocrate as we ask for high grades but if I was doing that exam I don’t think I could even do well, referrals to mental health units due to school pressures have increased by over a third in the past ten years’ so I ask why are exams getting harder every year why are these exams driving students to suicide. I want this issue to be raised to improve the lives of teenagers feeling pressure over exams. People say these are the best years of your lives, not for me they haven’t they have pushed me to despair. Students have a right to be angry furious even as they are being failed by the system. Teachers are being failed. Action must be taken in order to save lives and for the students who should be enjoying there life’s but cannot due to constant stress over exams.
