Petition to Allow Students to Pick Their Own Classes

What does this mean for students?
For students, this is the fatal flaw in the whole grand scheme of education. Being disengaged is the prime suspect in the failure to do any task. Physical or mental incapability is only a small part of the equation. If one has the drive and the motivation to accomplish a feat, it can happen seemingly regardless of physical or mental position. This lack of interest is the first domino to topple down; and at the end of the domino line, the door to a good college closes.

What does this mean for teachers?
Teachers are the ones who are bestowing the knowledge upon us students, and hopefully--which I think is the case of most teachers--they actually like their jobs. However, if you’re teaching a class of mostly disengaged students, are you really doing your job? If teachers are teaching, but students aren’t learning, then there is definitely a problem there. Teachers are the other half of this equation. What teachers need to do is identify why students are disengaging and change their lesson plans so that students can be more interested in their classes.
