Discipline children who use cats as soccer balls

Catz R Us South Africa wrote the following on their Facebook page:

"Yesterday, a teacher from SILVERTON PRIMARY SCHOOL in Pretoria rushed a little two week old baby to us. The children at the school were using him as a soccer ball. We gave him I/P fluids, anti-inflammatories and pain killers. I dropped him at Mariaan, one of our most experienced bottle feeders to try pull him through, but he died yesterday late afternoon. His little throat and body were seriously bruised, and he had massive internal injuries.

Absolutely heartbroken.

Last year August/September, we also took in one from the same school who died about a week later due to injuries. Only after threatening the principal, Mr Pieterse, with the media if he did not do something, did he bother to get back to me asking how 'WE can sort out their cat problem'. Due to lack of resources, (wo)manpower, funding, dealing with hundreds of dumped cats and kittens, we were not able to do much at the time.

Because of YOUR support, CatzRus and loads of other amazing woman are sorting this bullshit out once and for all. We'll take in ALL the kittens, and we'll sterilise the mommies. We're also going to run a massive campaign to get these kids educated, and hopefully instill a bit of compassion into the management sector. Please watch this space - we may need to ask for a bit of funding to sterilise these mommies - we just need to assess the situation first.

Silverton Primary has a few amazing teachers who have put themselves out for these cats and kittens, and have tried to educate these children with minimal to no support for their efforts. Three in particular stand out - you know who you are - thank you for saving these babies.

RIP little Orlando. Your death is not in vain. Your brothers and sisters will be safe because of you. You're in all of our thoughts."
