There have been two alleged sexual assaults on the Kennesaw State University campus since the beginning of classes in the Fall 2015 season. This comes on the heels of several students reporting sexual assault in the previous school year.
Students around the KSU campus and other Georgia universities have responded to the reports by tweeting the hashtag #HowSafeAreWe with their own stories and perspectives on rape culture on college campuses.
While the school has responded with a statement saying "one case is one too many and sexual assault absolutely will not be tolerated at Kennesaw State", we still believe the University can do more. Tell the school to provide meaningful education to its students about the importance of consent and reporting sexual assault, including an in-depth, in-person comprehensive program that has to be taken with students' required freshman orientation class - as well as doing more on campus within the school year to raise awareness and respect of consent.
