Please sign this petition to promote a national ban the official use of the word "MARIJUANA." It is a racist and prejudicial slang term. The correct name for the plant is Cannibis. Canibiss and hemp are plants that are fixing to save this planet.
Various types of Cannabis have been described, and variously classified as species, subspecies, or varieties:
- plants cultivated for fiber and seed production, described as low-intoxicant, non-drug, or fiber types.
- plants cultivated for drug production, described as high-intoxicant or drug types.
- escaped, hybridised, or wild forms of either of the above types.` Because this plant has become a cherished natural medicine to a loyal segment of citizens, slang terms undermine its legitimacy and the civil rights of its users. Replace "MARIJUANA" with "Cannibis" on all official citations, legal pleadings and legislative documents. YES WE CANNIBIS!
The word "marijuana" is outdated slang, and no longer has a place in the public dialogue. Cannibis is the proper term for use on any and all official documents. Failure to do so threatens the civil rights of hard-working, tax-paying. law-abiding Americans. Language sets the hypothesis for all thought and this proposal seeks to apply fairness and dignity to the language we use on the most important documents of our lives.
