Demand an End to these False Accustations

As students and athletes of the Ben Bolt Palito Blanco ISD we feel that it is our right to voice our opinion on a matter that affects our athletic program. We feel that our Athletic director is being unjustly accused of the events that took place the 25th of April at our regional track meet. The allegations against our coach are under false pretenses. Evidence has not been provided and the accusations that have been provided are from unreliable and untrustworthy sources, for example the allegations are coming from female students who disobeyed the rules specified and snuck out. Ten girls were in attendance in total but only four choose to leave their rooms, this reflects on the girls not our coaches. We feel the best way to handle this situation would be to punish the students who performed in these actions. Coach Lefevre was there as a parent and fan, not a coach. Even if the accusations may or may not be true, he was not responsible for us.

As students and athletes we work really hard for the approval and the trust of our coaches. We get excited to advance in sports and this year we were treated extra special and taken to several places but students who disobey the rules take these amazing privileges away from us. The seniors of the upcoming year fear losing privileges because of this incident. This is not something that should be blamed on the team as one or the coaches; this is something that needs to be sorted out with the guilty individuals. The individuals taken to the track meet are responsible young adults, not children who need babysitters. As this petition and another circulates remember the key issue, we are here discussing the events that took place at the track meet, not our coaches character and reputation. The community of BBPB ISD signed this petition as a way to protect our coaches’ job because we believe he should not be blamed for others mistakes.
