please return Cali to her family

Urge Summit county courts / prosecuter to do the right thing.. Jamie and her children have had Cali in their family since July 2014, They have loved and cared for her, and saved and resuced Cali, Cali has known and loved them, as her only humans, since they had saved her .
On Nov 5 2015 Jamie had asked her friend at the time, Heather who spent the night at her home to please leave! For very good reasons. ( I wont be using her last name on here). While Jamie was heading to the shower Heather took Cali and left with her.
Jamie has done everything legally in her power to try to find and get Cali home. She had filed a police report, along with also posting 'missing' flyers, and posting to social media in desperate hopes that someone may have recognized Cali. She searched and searched for her fur-baby, staying up night after night worried sick. She offered a reward for Cali's safe return. 3 days ago someone had called Jamie and told her that they seen her in a house over in the north hill area, Jamie did the right thing and called the Akron police, to meet her there, to get Cali. The police showed up, and told Jamie she has to go to court to get her dog back!! Because the lady said it was her dog ,Why do things legally? Why make a report if its not going to matter? What does this show our children? What does this show Jamie's children? It's alright to steal because even the law can't or won't return the stolen item?This is not how theft is supposed to be handled when the owner makes a report, and the theft of an animal is no different. then the theft of a car or a radio so why are they asking Jamie to just walk away from her family member? Please give Jamie and her children back their fur-baby
