Some motor vehicles are pretty quiet. Some are noisy because they're older and in need of fixing or replacement. And some are painfully NOISY because that's how they're users want them. Here's a little story:
A few years ago, I was near my wide-open window overlooking a busy street and happened to see a motorcycle go by and stop at a red light. Then another. Then two more. And then one more... until, eventually, there were easily 10 or a dozen motorcycles stopped at the intersection, some ridden by couples. Okay, so what? The remarkable -- amazing -- thing about this is that, had I not actually seen them rolling by, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN that they were ever there!! That's how quiet those things can be. And then they left just as quietly as they'd arrived.
So what does this say about the people who choose to ride or drive exceedingly noisy vehicles? They know very well what they're doing and that they are, in fact, terrorizing those who don't easily tolerate incredibly loud noises. That includes both humans and our beloved four-legged or winged friends. And let's not forget about the car alarms that are often triggered by the vibrations!
Sadly, I don't see any use in this petition other than letting me know that there are others in the world who share my feelings. Thank you for reading and signing!

Many months after I started my petition, sadly, very few people have chosen to sign it. So I want to thank those few of you who agreed enough with me to actually sign. I'm glad that at least you feel much as I do. Thanks!

To the precious few signers of my petition so far, I say "thank you".
The fact that so few have signed makes me very sad. To me, it says that too many people are willing to let ugly and disruptive behaviour be considered normal behaviour. Thanks again.
