Public Safety for Tourists in New Mexico: Status ofTransportation

TRANSPORTATION FOR TOURISTS  

Tourist take many modes of transportation in a region. They are enjoying the "Land of Enchantment". They are concerned about time, simplicity, and their agenda. Tourism Safety for riding any form of transportation is critical. New Mexico is a tourist state. Many tourists remain in the convention area, people may take local transportation to avoid parking issues. By chosing public transportation - should not deny them sense of personhood, right to medical care, or fair treatment under the law.

I Rode a bus. This statement on my medical records led to discriminatory treatment and denial of care after a life threatening auto accident.

I rode a bus, local prejudce told the medial clinicians, I was not eleigbile for medical care. I was deemed undesireable. My clothing of $350.00 sweater coat, $150.00 skirt, and $200.00 boots were at the police station,after the accident. Stripped naked we all look the same.

I am the same value God gave to all people - a divine soul. Like Rosa Parks, I am being punished for my choice - I rode a bus. I am being labeled. I am being diminished and demeaned for being in a "class of people" who took the bus.

I rode a bus. I was denied medical care. I rode a bus... I never got a settlement offer. I rode a bus... I can't get legal representation.... I rode a bus... I am from out of State. I rode a bus... I am a tourist. I rode a bus.... corruption in New Mexico keeps consumers from getting services, information, and legal rights.

My life is spent educating people on culture - to reduce discrimination... I rode a bus... Now, I face discriminiation.

I have spent my life in the top 5% of the population - This accident has cost me a substancial amount of money - and in New Mexico opposing counsel wants to pretend I am lying. They want to pretend, I was never anything, never accomplished anything because.... I rode a bus. I am from -NYC - I rode a bus.

Growing up in California we think about our "carbon footprint" - energy conservation and environmental concerns. Car sharing, ride sharing, public transportation, reducing emissions is forefront in our mind. 

TRANSPROTATION STATUS

In New Mexico, one needs a car to get around. In fact, as in many places the car is a STATUS SYMBOL in New Mexico.Even in the process of hiring a lawyer, because I was not "driving? I lost the representation. New Mexico is challenged as a border state in the south. In New Mexico, thare many people who fail to contribute to society. Those people 'ride buses', they are the disabled, the homeless, the indigent, and the substance abuser. The STATUS of riding the BUS is LOW.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation has a campaign "LOOK FOR ME" for pedestrian safety. New Mexico has the #1 pedestrian auto accident rate in the USA. There is no enforcement for unsafe driving in New Mexico. The status of pedestrian means they are fair game for injury.

Pedestrians should be allowed medical care.

People who ride buses should be allowed medical care.

Homeless people should be allowed medical care.

ASK NEW MEXICO to provide Public Safety for people who ride buses. ASK NEW MEXICO to provide special assistance and international language on TOURIST BUS ROUTES.
