Our children who are full of potential, our spouses who these children look up to – innocent lives lost because school shootings have robbed them from us. Tragedies that could have been prevented!
This is what society has come to. We will NOT let this stop us.
This is not a petition to ban assault guns or change regulations. Such petitions are accompanied with longevity. We don't have time to wait. We need change, and we need it now!
Instead, this is a petition to prevent mass casualty harm in schools. Every school should be supplied with bulletproof vests and helmets. Storage closets can be placed in every classroom, and drills will be undergone for practice.
We need a realistic, plausible change in the school system. Metal detectors do not DIRECTLY protect our loved ones. Police officers also do not DIRECTLY protect our loves ones. I express this to you all because we need equipment that will protect our kids DIRECTLY.
Soldiers and law enforcement use these protective measures when they are faced with weapons. Bulletproof armor is our children's only defense against weapons.
The expense of such defense is costly, but the lives of our loved ones are priceless. School shootings may continue to happen, but our families do not need to be torn to pieces and suffer irreversible loss. We need to prevent another mass murder from occurring. We must act now.
There are no easy solutions at this time, however armor may be able to save many lives. Sign this petition to demand that the U.S. Congress make armor a required source of protection for all public and private institutions.
