Smith School Vice Principal is a Transphobic Dick

The Smith School is a therapeutic school in NYC. My friend Elliot and I are trans, I myself being masculine-genderfluid and him full-on male, if I'm correct. We are not allowed to use the men's bathroom, and this is because of our vice principal, Dan Madden.

Quick flashback to one year ago. I finally worked up the courage to use the men's room, and went in there between periods. During study hall I was called into the principal's office, and told by both Dan and principal Karen Smith that I was "making the boys uncomfortable". Despite the fact that the amount of discomfort I brought went to about two boys out of at least thirty, I decided to just bare with it and continue using the women's room. However, later on I learned this is against the law.

Now, flash-forward! I'm in 11th grade, and my good buddy Elliot has just joined this school. He decides to have a discussion with Dan about our bathroom issues after an exam, and I sit and wait. He returns, saying, "You can't talk to Dan about anything", and holding a recording device.

On returning to my house, Elliot, my other friend Jakob, and I listened to the recording. It contained such wonderful quotes as "this law doesn't apply to us...we are a religious facility", as our school is on the 9th floor of a Jewish building, "You're ignoring how other people feel", "[this being discrimination] is your opinion", "You're not anatomically a boy", and my personal favorite, "it's very heliocentric of you to think that way". Apparently we're only allowed if our gender is changed legally, or we had sex reassignment surgery. As Jakob said, "Debate-wise, he was pretty much pissing all over his own feet".

Not only this, but according to Elliot, Dan outed me to him without my permission, another thing that is against the law. Not only that, but in the recording he claimed that I, a transgender individual, would AGREE with what he was saying. Transgender-related laws are Title 9, and still apply to this school, whether it's private OR in a religious facility.
