Tell the Federal Government to Cancel Endangered Rhino Hunt!

Professional hunter Corey Knowlton bid $350,000 for the chance to kill an endangered black rhinoceros in Africa. The Dallas Safari Club in Texas promoted the auction as an effort to save endangered rhinos at the cost of the one that will be hunted for a rare trophy.

Knowlton applied for a permit last spring for the right to bring the rhino's remains back to the U.S. as a trophy. Because of a rise in poaching (the main reason rhinos are endangered in the first place), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is applying extra scrutiny to Knowlton's request. The Safari Club says they will cancel the hunt if the government denies Knowlton's request.

Selling the chance to kill a rhino is an irresponsible and hypocritical way to promote conservation. It glamorizes hunting and paints endangered animals as trophies and commodities rather than living beings to be respected. Please sign the petition to urge Fish and Wildlife to deny Knowlton's application and cancel the hunt!

As you know, professional hunter Corey Knowlton applied for a permit last spring for the right to bring a black rhino's remains back to the U.S. as a trophy. His winning bid earned him the chance to hunt and kill an African Black Rhino as part of a fundraiser sponsored by the Dallas Safari Club. The Dallas Safari Club says they will cancel the hunt if you deny Knowlton's request.

Selling the chance to kill a rhino is an irresponsible and hypocritical way to promote conservation. It glamorizes hunting and paints endangered animals as trophies and commodities rather than living beings to be respected. Considering the rise in poaching in recent ways, this isn't a sustainable approach to saving the species. We respectfully urge you to deny Knowlton's application and cancel the hunt. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
