The vote is TODAY! Tell the Senate: Vote NO on climate-killer Keystone XL!

The House just voted to build the climate-killing Keystone XL tar sands pipeline! And within just hours, the Senate will vote too. The pipeline has at least 58 Senate votes, and Big Oil's allies in DC say they're confident they can get two more. The Senate needs to nix this climate-killing legislation, and if they don't have the guts, then President Obama needs to veto the bill and reject the pipeline's application immediately! It's up to you to make your voice heard in the hours before the vote -- sign this Care2 petition today!

Keystone XL is no ordinary pipeline - it carries Canadian tar-sands oil, one of the dirtiest fossil fuels on earth. NASA's top climate expert says it could mean "game over" for the climate, its mining process is devastating for First Nation tribes, and its pipelines are far more likely to spill and harm local communities. It wouldn't even lower gas prices - the oil will be exported to foreign countries. Keystone XL is clearly all risk and no reward - at least, no reward for anyone but Big Oil!

The vote is to help save one Democratic senator in her runoff election -- but most of the Democrats who lost in this months' election were moderate and conservative Democrats. Pledging to hurt our climate and clean water is not the way to win votes!

Tell the Senate: Our climate is too important! Reject the tar sands and Keystone XL immediately!

Dear Senators,

Keystone XL is all risk and no reward! Every oil expert has agreed that expansion of Canadian tar sands oil mining depends on Keystone XL being built - but NASA's top climate scientist once said that tar sands mean "game over" for the climate. Furthermore, tar sands dilbit is highly corrosive, so these pipelines are more likely to leak and spill, destroying our communities, than conventional pipelines.

It is not Congress's job to oversee specific individual projects like this, or to pick winners and losers. Please let the process take its course -- protect our climate, as well as the landowners in the pipeline's path and the First Nations tribes getting cancer from the mining, and vote NO on Keystone XL!
