Ban Wildlife Killing Contests!

Cruel hunters are killing countless wild animals for fun and money!

One clear example is red foxes. Check this out.

"The Maryland Department of Natural Resources reports that red fox populations are declining in some areas, but this species is still being slaughtered for fun and cash prizes throughout the state.

"In January and February 2020, undercover investigators from the Humane Society of the United States recorded the aftermath of two wildlife killing contests in which participants competed to kill the most, and the heaviest foxes, coyotes and raccoons for cash and prizes.

"For both contests, participants used digital devices that play animal distress calls to lure animals to their deaths," according to the Humane Society of the U.S.

Can you believe this?

They are taking advantage of these animals' natural instinct to respond to a distress call so they can murder them.

But it gets worse...

HSUS investigators also witnessed "200 or so animals piled up for counting and, in some cases, weighing".

As well as "contestants unloading bloody animals from their pickup trucks.

"Some of the animals had gruesome injuries and had been ripped apart by bullets."

And the worst thing of all:

HSUS saw "children playing among piles of dead animals."

I expected these heartless adults to be callous to the demise of so many defenseless animals, but the way they are desensitizing their children to death and suffering breaks my heart.

Hunters often like to claim that they're conservationists.

And they can rant all day about people hunting for food.

But that isn't what these vicious people are doing in wildlife hunting contests; they're killing for "sport" and prize money.

"HSUS investigators also clearly heard contestants discussing their plans to dump their dead animals at a landfill after the contest," according to the same source.

What could be more shameful than that?

Hundreds of animals brutally murdered.

Just so they could rot in a landfill.

All predators, including foxes, coyotes and raccoons - which are sometimes the subjects of killing contests - play a vital role in the ecosystems where they live.

HSUS went on to say: "Foxes provide balance in nature as they control rodent populations, and, like all wild carnivores, they regulate their own numbers according to available habitat and prey."

Are you going to stand by while these bloodthirsty contests continue? Take action.

Senator Bernie Sanders has been a long-term advocate for animal rights, and has co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation to protect endangered species, as well as to combat animal cruelty.

That's why we're asking him to lead a movement in Congress that would ban these heartless wildlife hunting contests all across the United States.
