As of right now, animal abuse is in the hands of the states, and there are a few states that don't even have laws against the endangerment of these animals. And the states that do range anywhere from a slap on the wrist with community service to 6months-10 yrs incarceration. Why is that? Some people don't bat an eyelash when they hear of animal cruelty, but did you know that most serial killers start out as animal abusers? If they were stopped then, we would not only be saving animals, but potentially human lives as well! It is time to wake up!!! There is a huge difference between legally hunting a deer, bear, duck, etc and using those resources to feed your family, or even protecting yourself against an dangerous animal and wrecklessly shooting someone's pet because you don't like it.
