LEGAL ACTION AGAINST MTA BRIDGES AND TUNNELS

    There are many toll/ EZ Pass customers who have been experiencing a common issue: Incorrect charges and/or violation fees.

    Like many of you, , I received a violation letter requesting that a $2000 fee be paid. Not once did I receive any correspondences or bills for any charges. Confused, I reached out to the Transportation Authority once again. This time I was advised to purchase an EZ Pass and by doing so, this unwarranted violation charge would be waived. I purchased the EZ Pass in December. Two months later, I am now receiving another collection letter with an apparent balance dating back to October. Yet again, I have never received any bills or correspondences for any charges.

    This is an ongoing issue for toll/ EZ Pass customers. Some customers are being billed for fraudulent charges and some customers are receiving unwarrantable violation charges. When confronted about billing issues, EZ Pass places the responsibility of monitoring usage and charges on customers. This is not acceptable. There is a known issue with the service and accuracy that the Transportation Authority and EZ Pass offer their customers and they need to be held responsible. Together, we can push for more efficiency and demand more accurate billing procedures
