CASEY'S LAW IN TENNESSEE

This act provides a means of intervening with someone who is unable to recognize his or her need for treatment due to their impairment. This law will allow parents, relatives, and/or friends to petition the court for treatment on behalf of the person who is substance abuse impaired.

This act was initiated by Charlotte Wethington, Casey's mom in an attempt to provide an option that could save a life without criminalizing the disease of addiction.

This page serves to inform about the Matthew Casey Wethington Act and the disease of addiction.
