JUSTICE FOR APOLLO - FIRE OFFICER ROBERT NORRIS

  • by: Donna Earley
  • recipient: HOMETOWN POLICE CHIEF CHARLES FORSYTH, City of Hometown Illinois Department of Police 4331 Southwest Highway Hometown, IL 60456 Emergency: 911 (708) 422-2188

We the people are demanding that chief Charles Forsyth, fire hometown police officer Robert Norris who shot and killed Apollo, a family dog in his own yard. Officer Norris has no business being on the police force and is a danger to his community. We the people also demand that charges be filed against Officer Robert Norris and that he be penalized to the fullest extent of the law. Illinois has laws in place and in this instance they need to be enforced as they would for any other person committing this callous act of animal cruelty.

Apollo was shot in the head in the presence of a six year old child who was nearby. Officer Norris used extreme force not only killing the family dog, but endangered the life of a child and deeply traumatized her. In the manner that officer Norris discharged his firearm also endangered neighbors. Many witnesses to the shooting are justifiably angered at the officer.

We demand that officer Robert Norris be put on leave without pay until the investigation is completed and he is charged appropriately. At that time we expect a full termination of the officer.

Respectfully,

We the people

This petition will  be updated as details are known. A lack of cooperation from the hometown police department in this shooting gave us no other option than to start this petition based on the facts that we have heard from the owners and witnesses to the shooting.
