ALL kids deserve an education!

Did you know that today in Pennsylvania, only half of foster children graduate from high school or earn a GED, and less than 10% obtain a Bachelor’s degree?

The Foster Youth Higher Education Act, SB72 would require benefitting students to maintain a minimum grade point average and complete a set amount of community service each year they are in school. The bill would work by eliminating the remaining cost of tuition not covered by state and federal aid.

This bill was introduced to the PA Education Committee on January 14, 2013, but has seen no movement. Please urge committee chair, Senator Mike Folmer to bring this bill to a committee vote.
