Live Bees being sent via Royal Mail post!

A friend of mine is a post office worker, and when she sent me a photo of a parcel marked with 'Live queen bee. Please handle with care' I was appalled! How can it be legal to send any living creature through the post!? Well it is! Bees and other insects are on the Royal Mails okay to post list! Not only does the animal have to suffer an extremely enclosed space for the duration of the postage, the chances of it getting to its destination unscathed are pretty slim! The box could get damaged killing or injuring the bee or the ventilation could be restricted. I know even when I order a new dress or a pair of shoes the state in which some parcels arrive - if the contents were fragile they would not survive! Help me get live creatures off Royal Mails okay to post list!
