Keep Ford Park open. Support the housing application

Ford Park in Ulverston is a well-used community facility and as most of you know the committee have planned to sell a small area of land at the town end and to build 8 houses thereon. This is the only way to ensure the long-term future of the Park, Coach House Cafe and Garden, but it is likely to fall foul of the planning committee on a technicality.
Members of the SLDC planning committee will meet on the 26th March to determine the planning application which is critical to saving Ford Park . While the planning officer has gone to some length to say they applaud the planning application on all matters-other than the 'loss of open space' they will be recommending the application is refused.
Please ensure that this does not happen. The members of the planning committee do not necessarily have to go along with the planning officer.
If the application is refused there would be no option but to close the park

"We urge you all to think of the community of Ulverston and Furness by supporting the application for the small development at Ford Park. The park is very well used and the benefits of having a well managed environmentally friendly centre in the area are appreciated by all. We hope you don't vote against the community group and this amenity is saved for all the children and adults who go there"
