BAN LARSEN TRAPS FOR CROWS AND MAGPIES , LET OUR WILDBIRDS FLY FREE IN 2017

Ordinary people do not know about the ways of the countryside and just because a solution has been found to reduce the effect of scavengers such as crows and magpies it does not mean it should be used if it promotes animal cruelty, I have lived 69 years in town and country and I did not know this way of reducing the population.If Larsen traps were banned in Denmark ,where they were invented ; because they are eminently cruel to birds which show a high degree of intelligence then they are also cruel in this country. The system is well open to abuse,I have seen ' my ' crows and magpies see off birds of prey from my garden on the edge of Dartmoor, and we do not know enough of the equilibrium of nature but only seem to be able to unbalance it for our own gain.If you care about wild bird life please stop this method of trapping and killing birds: please look up 'Corvid Traps'.
