James P Keihl II: Crime description based on Coronor's report or Wild Exaggeration? The truth deserves to be Heard!

My nephew is serving 20 yrs to Life for a murder he committed on December 3, 1992 in Xenia OH. He has already served 23yrs but his 3rd Parole hearing was denied based on 'public outcry' due to the victim's mother's wildly exaggerated description of the actual crime.

How does one stifle wording from victim's family that contains crazy and gross description of the crime that absolutely do not match up with the coroner's report?

The people who are signing the wrongly worded petition put out by the victim's family believe my nephew to be a monster on Hannibal Lector's level.  Yes, it was a crime of passion which resulted in murder, but he did not chop off body parts and decapitate his victim and drive down the road with the head in the passenger seat.   There are many other discrepencies in the families account of the crime as well.

If this is what the parole board is describing as 'public outcry', then it's a major injustice since the petition they created (the victim's family) is wrong and the record must/should reflect the truth of what really happened.

I feel that the public who are signing petitions to keep him in jail with this inaccurately worded description of the crime are not being given the correct information to make informed decisions on his behalf.

My nephew has been a model prisoner, has furthered his education and written several books during his time in prison.

He has done his time and his release should be decided on time served, actions since incarceration, and not based on totally inaccurate information and the number of people signing a wrongly worded accounting of the crime.

Last letters of support for his 2016 parole hearing were instructed to not include any information on the crime itself.  Yet, there is a petition being circulated that has totally wrong information and the public are being asked to sign it are not hearing the true facts of the crime.

The facts in the coroner's report should have bearing on parole board findings, not the number of people signing a petition that is so very wrong.  That's the real 'public outcry'!

Update #17 years ago
I failed to show nephew's name (James P Keihl, II) on any part of the petition. I've now included his name in the title. Hopefully folks can find him and cross-reference the truth from fiction on this Care2 site! Thanks for everyone who has already signed! He deserves to be heard!
