WE NEED FAIR UNIFORMS FOR GIRLS

A large number of young women have had time from THEIR EDUCATION TAKEN AWAY because their skirts were arguably "too short". The school wants skirt length to be 2 inches above the knee because they think boys will get distracted. Some young women have been suspended for showing "too much skin." Don't shame young women by telling them their skirt lengths are more important than being allowed to attend class. Our goal is to let students wear what they want without being shamed.

At Woodrow wilson High school and J.L. Long middle school there is the large percentage of girls attending that are having their education taken away because of the new skirt rules. The new uniform policy (that isn't DISD policy) was released so girls went and got their skirts to the appropriate length which cost money. When at school even if your skirt is correct length if administration feels it is too short they will rid the young ladies of their education by placing them in ISS (in school suspension) until parents (who have to work to provide) are able to bring them new clothes. While the boys are allowed to be walking around with shorts to their mid thigh. This gender inequality needs to be stopped. please sign this to keep the Woodrow administration from preventing the girls from getting the proper education. By signing you're saying administration needs to have proper measurement guidelines, follow a CERTAIN rule and ALL administration abide by it, follow DISDs code and violations policy. This needs to be put to a stop and you can help us do it. -Audrey Blumenstock, Sophomore
