The Hahira Honey Bee Festival Lowndes High School Georgia Bridgeman

Since The Beginning of The Hahira Honey Bee Festival Lowndes High School's Georgia Bridgeman Have Performed Annually. However Since The Retirement of Mr. Billy Martin The Band Director That Filled His Position Has Refused To Allow The Band To Perform. This Is Not Just A Personal Matter For My Family and I. This Is A Hahira Tradition A Very Important Part of Our Community. The Absence of Our Award Winning Band Has Affected The Entire Community As A Whole. There Were 5 Ladies That Strategically Planned and Created This Annual Week Of Events That We Now Celebrate The First Weekend In October. This Huge Event That Bring Thousands From Far and Near Holds A Special Place In My Heart Because My Grandmother Mrs. Eula L. Copeland Was One of The Founding Members. I Spoke With Several Band Members The Response Was Unanimous, " We Looked Forward To Performing But The Director Stated In Our First Meeting We Wouldn't Be Performing".
