Support for Older Adult's experiencing Trauma

The policy H.R. 1757- Trauma-Informed Care for Children and Families Act 2017 addressed ways to improve the needs of emotional and psychological support for children who have experienced trauma. The policy also supports the families of children who have or are experiencing Trauma. However, the policy failed to acknowledge Older Adults who have or are in the midst of experiencing Trauma which would require support emotionally and psychologically as well. As a result, Older Adults may feel that there are no agencies available to provide care for their experiences. Being that the Policy did not address or acknowldge that there are Older Adults experiencing trauma this petition can support the NASW code 4.02 Discrimination, which acknowledges that no individual should be excluded from receiving information to receive services.
