There is an issue at Park Farm Centre in Allestree which can no longer be ignored. During the day amidst the hustle and bustle of shopping centre opening hours you may not notice, but increasingly the issue is spreading so that even the general public can see. The issue is this; We, the residents of the Park Farm flats, are innundated with abuse, profanities, threats, and endless amounts of screaming from groups of youths who like to call the car park and other corners of the shopping centre their hideout.
Whether it is riding bikes and playing football on the rooftop car park at all hours of the night, breaking the chains off of the trolly storage area, climbing over the rooftops, or drinking and smoking directly under our windows, we demand that someone put a stop to the extreme amounts of antisocial behaviour we are forced to endure. Previously we relied on an all night security guard who conducted regular patrols to keep the situation under control, but for reasons unknown he has been replaced with a security guard who does not regularly patrol and clocks off at midnight leaving the youths the run of the centre. We have tried in vain to contact members of authority on this matter and still we are left to handle the situation on our own, which often results in residents of our flats being targeted by these youths and abused for nights in a row.
Please sign this petiton to demand a better security arrangement for Park Farm Centre and it's flats, because whilst it is simply a shopping centre at the lower level, that does not mean that the people who call the flats above home should be ignored. We go to work, we have responsibilities and commitments, and the level of stress and sleep deprivation cannot be tolerated. Demand that Park Farm become accountable for ALL of it's entities, not only the ones that exist during the day.
