The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed to combat communism across the world during the Cold War. When the Warsaw Pact and the USSR fell, one might think NATO would become obsolete, and dissolve. However, NATO has kept on growing and the US government keeps funding it with taxpayer dollars. In recent past, NATO has waged ineffective wars all around the world. Also, of the 28 countries in the organization, only five spend the correct amount of money (2 percent of GDP) on it, with the US spending by far the most. It is not America's responsibility to protect nations like Estonia and Montenegro against threats that don't exist. Many war mongering politicians blatantly lie to the public and say that the military is needed to "defend our freedom". However, my freedom and your freedom have nothing to do with funding small rebel groups in Syria that have very close relations to al Qaeda and ISIS. This is issue is a nonpartisan issue in regards to fiscal policy, rather if you want peace and love or perrenial war. Join me as well as many others, who don't want the government to use our tax dollars to build AR-15s and Aircraft carriers, but to use it in such a way that benefits the populace. Ending NATO is integral in the everlasting pursuit for peace on earth.
