Because law abiding citizens pay annual fees " rod licenses " to be able to fish, yet they are harassed and threatened with prosecution if they do not pay for additional licenses to fish on the canals and rivers.
It is a con and a very big profitable business hiding behind a government funded charity trust. British water ways are mostly on public land, and to sell the rights for these waterways is criminal and for profit is even more so. The Canals and Rivers trust should never have taken the responsibility of our waterways and the passed it on to private clubs for financial again. And yet they receive millions from the tax payers and rod licensed, and also from angling men & women for doing what exactly ?
How long do we let criminals take our land and money without making them accountable ? Please sign and take back what belongs to all of us and stop these crooks.
We want you the canals & rivers trust to us our tax payers founds and our rod licensing fee to maintain our waterways and stop privatising them and charging us more money. We fund you, yet, you take our money, do your jobs or get out . let honest people do the job that you seem to have difficulties in maintaining.
