In several disturbing photos taken recently at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., a man in a golf cart can be seen taking aim with what appears to be a rifle. According to the city manager, the man is a contractor hired by the golf club to use a pellet gun to kill gophers, squirrels and other animals.
Not only is this a cruel and unusual way to deal with a rodent problem, but it's illegal to discharge weapons of any kind in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes. The Trump National Golf Club did not apply for any permit to shoot animals.
The incident is under investigation by the city. In the meantime, the Trump National Golf Club needs to find a more humane solution for dealing with gophers. (As some have jokingly suggested, why not build a wall around the golf course?)
Please sign and share this petition telling the owner and the manager of the Trump National Golf Course to stop shooting gophers and other critters.
