Lower the school leaving age to 16

  • by: Liam Hayes
  • recipient: Prime Minister of the UK, David Cameron
In England and Wales on September 1st 1972 the education leaving age was raised from 15 to 16 following preparations 8 years earlier. In September 2013 the education leaving age was raised to 17, and in September 2015 it rose to 18.

It is important because 16 years old's should be allow to work if they have the proper qualifications and it is a disgrace that children are being forced to stay in education until they are a minimum of 18 years old.
