Help Women With Adenomyosis - A Plea For Funding For More Research!

  • by: Maria Martin

Adenomyosis is a uterine disorder that causes severe pain, very heavy menstrual bleeding, anemia, infertility, and possibly bladder and bowel issues. This disorder can be debilitating and can dramatically reduce a woman's quality of life.

I suffered from this disorder for 17 years before it was diagnosed at hysterectomy. Adenomyosis is extremely difficult to diagnose. I have started my own website, the Adenomyosis Information Network, and I try to educate and support women who are currently dealing with it. In my research, I am finding very few studies on this disorder.

We are pleading with the NIH to please fund more studies for adenomyosis. We need more information on it so it can be diagnosed and treated more effectively. Some doctors have never heard of the condition, and others know very little about it. We desperately need more research, and physicians need more education on this terrible uterine disorder.

Please show your support by signing this petition. Thanks so much!

Update #19 years ago
Hi, everyone

Thank you sooooo much for your support on this petition to ask the NIH to fund research for adenomyosis. Today, we have 271 signatures. The petition will be closed on April 1. I will keep you informed of any response I receive.

Please forward this petition to any of your family or friends and ask them to sign. Getting as many signatures as possible will help to put pressure on the NIH to take some action.

Thanks!

Maria
