Prevent inhumane treatment of animals in American slaughter houses

Animals are constanlty being abused in the slaughter houses. These acts are disgusting and we should all be ashamed of this. Watch this video from Paul McCartney http://ow.ly/btqdn and you'll know. This cruelty is appalling!

And how can our government sit quietly and let this happen. Aren't we supposed to set an example for the rest of the world? Please act now. Humane Slaughter Act is outdated and not enforced. For example, although more than 168 million chickens (excluding broilers) and around 9 billion broiler chickens are killed for food in the United States yearly, these are not even covered under the Act. Penalties are such a joke that no one even cares. This is beyond disturbing for any civilized society. Just watch this video from Paul McCartney and you'll know - http://ow.ly/btqdn

CALL TO ACTION:

What we are looking for? - Revision of the Human Slaughter Act. This is not an appeal for everyone to become a vegetarian. That's your personal choice. But by making the Act broader and tougher we can dissuade these companies from treating animals so cruelly and put tighter controls in place for a lot more humane treatment of animals. Let's act like humans not monsters.

I am urging to the Congress and the President to move quickly to revise this Act as soon as possible.
