Send Bijlee to a Shelter!

Bijlee, an Indian elephant, collapsed in the street in Mumbai and is now fighting for her life. 58-years-old, she is overworked having been used in weddings for decades, and neglected, being 1.5 tones overweight.

Bijlee has not gotten proper nutrition and has been fed inappropriate meals such as Indian snacks including vada pav -- a spicy potato pattie. Indian elephants usually eat grass and tree bark. Before falling in the street, she had fallen in a creek and hurt her hind legs.

Bijlee has had a hard life and deserves to live the rest of it with proper care & treatment, surrounded by those who won't use her but will only love her. Please tell the Animal Welfare Board of India to send Bijlee to a shelter!

Dear Animal Welfare Board of India,

Recently an elephant named Bijlee collapsed in the street in Mumbai after being overworked and neglected for decades. Used in weddings, she is 1.5 tones overweight and has been fed junk food, like Indian snack foods, instead of a proper diet consisting of things such as tree bark and grass. Before falling in the street, she had fallen into a creek and hurt her legs.

Bijlee deserves to live the rest of her life in comfort & peace where she can receive proper care and treatment. She should no longer be used, but loved. Please send her to a shelter.

Thank you for your time.
