Since January 2012, The Weather Channel had decided to go on a more mainstream music route which eliminated smooth Jazz from airing on the network's "Local on the 8's segments". Then in March, they decided to start adding vocal music which has caused an uproar in the TWC Fan Community, in addition to several complaints on their FB page and over 200+ votes on TWC's Feedback forums about the music change. Since TWC has decided to ignore the current viewer base, I've decided to make this petition to hopefully show everyone at The Weather Channel that viewership matters and the viewer's voice should come first in network decisions. Please sign this petition to show TWC that you would like Smooth Jazz back on the Local On The 8s. We are not asking for jazz to return entirely. A daytime and overnight smooth jazz daypart (which TWC has done before) is ideal, with the current stuff airing on the morning and primetime dayparts (when viewership is the highest).
