Re-open parking for Perrywood Residents

This petition is to urge Perrywood's HOA Board of Directors to re-open the parking spaces for the residents of Perrywood, particularly in the townhouse section. Parking has been open for visitors AND residents since at least 2005. But as of 5/24/16, it has been noted that residents can no longer park in the parking spaces, and that the spaces will only be open to visitors.

This presents an issue for families with multiple cars in their households, as parking is now limited to parking in the garage, driveway, and in VERY LIMITED street parking (for example 2 open spots for a townhome section of about 28 townhomes). This is extremely frustrating as the parking spaces near the townhomes (10 spaces) in the past were 5 visitor, 5 open for residents. This was changed to 100% visitor spaces. Furthermore, some of the spaces observed are about 40%, at most 50% utilized by residents which leaves 50-60% for visitor parking. And the 40% utilization is usually only for overnight parking as residents leave during the day for work.

This presents several issues that may arise from the change; 1. Snow removal in the winter - cars parked in front of homes run the risk of being side-swiped by snow plows, and may also slow snow removal as they may be in the way of snow plows. 2. Cars parked along the street are more susceptible to being side swiped or hit by other vehicles passing through - visitors driving through the area (sometimes faster than residential area speed limits), lawn care vehicles pulling wide trailers with lawn care machinery, large moving or trash removal trucks, etc. 3. Cars parking on the street directly in front of townhomes partially block the driveways of multiple homes and run the risk of being damaged by vehicles entering/exiting.  4. Cars parking on the street leave drivers with DANGEROUSLY LOW VISIBILITY for children playing in the streets.
