The DOJ and legal entities have turned their heads.
Every day someone is being scammed by a “fake contractor” here in Montana.
The DOJ and governing bodies have turned a blind eye to the thousands of dollars being taken from hard working Montanians on a daily basis.
They claim, this is because these cases are too hard to prosecute. What they neglect to tell you is, it’s because the Montana laws that they have created are vague and very wide open.
Their only concern is that an “contractor” plays fair in competing with other contractors. Their laws ONLY protect the contractor. The victims have no rights.
Victims of this fraud are being blamed and shamed because as the FBI puts it...”you hired him”. Consumer Affairs says “you should have done your homework”.
The homework was and is being done, but the fact is.. there isn’t enough resources to inform and protect the victim. The scammers present with a fake license, fake insurance, and accomplices for references.
And this is all ok with Montana.
As proven on their own website, Montana has very few requirements to become a contractor or independent contractor.

Federal ID
Pay 125.00 fee and WHA LA
YOU'RE A CONTRACTOR
There are no tests, no background check and no follow up.
They have no idea how many “contractors” are out there because they are not “forced” to register. They want the consumer to report non licensed so that they can attach a fee and collect their money.
Never asking how they can assist in getting the money back for the Victims.
The scammers are well aware of the lackadaisical laws in Montana and that is why they target Montanians.
It is time to put an end to the financial rape that we as Montanians are forced to endure, because “its to hard to prosecute”
