Tell Harper Canada Needs to Cut Carbon Emissions, Not Increase Them!

  • by: Janelle Martel
  • recipient: Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada

In a government report to the United Nations, Canada reported that their carbon emissions will increase by 38% by 2030, mainly due to the tar sands.  While this number is bad enough, Climate Action Tracker analyses have found that Canada is actually under-reporting its carbon emissions.

Compared to similar countries, Canada is simply not meeting the mark.  Canada has already pulled out of the Kyoto Accord, instead opting for a more modest reduction in carbon emissions.  However, Canada is failing to meet even this more modest reduction, instead actually increasing its carbon emissions!

Tell Harper to focus on reducing Canada's carbon emissions and increasing the use of renewable forms of energy, both to protect our Earth and support the other country's dedicated to reducing their carbon emissions.
