The United States recently added the Koala to the endangered list. Koala's aren't found in the wild in the U.S. though the government is hoping they can help, by adding them. No longer can people bring Koala's into the states. Scientists also think everyone will now be more aware of the dangers of cutting down trees.
Koala's rely on eucalyptus tree's for food and water as well as using the same tree's for their habitat, so when a large percentage of these tree's are being continually felled, that means it greatly impacts on Koala's who are losing their habitat and food source at a greater rate. This not only means forests are reducing but in the end Koala's will become seriously endangered not only in this area on the Sunshine Coast but in other area's throughout Australia.
It's noted and public that the United States and Australia are working together to save Koala's from extinction. Great news, so please add them on our list too.
Currently in Australia, Koala's are considered to be "Secure", definitely not "endangered". Please consider this plight of this region where Koala's inhabit where they are facing being wiped out. 1000 Koala's are reducing fast so we must act quickly to ensure their survival.
