In 2011 more than 430 rhino were slaughtered in South Africa alone, some left alive with terrible wounds. Just for their horns.
There is a believe system in the East that has to change.
Rhino horn possesses NO magical or medicinal properties - it is purely compacted hair.
If this poaching continues, and it is increasing every year,  within 25 years all rhino in Africa will be killed. Just like the Java rhino that is now extinct.

We the undersigned 
Are highly concerned about the massive increase in rhino poaching over the past few years. At the current rate of slaughter the world's rhino population could be wiped out in a matter of 25 years.
The price per kilo for rhino horns is currently the highest for any commodity in the world. And it all stems from a believe in Asian countries that Rhino horn possess some magical and medicinal properties that can cure cancer and can also improve potency. This believe has no factual grounds to stand on as Rhino horn is just simply compacted hair.
The time has arrived for a concerted  worldwide effort to put pressure on any nation that holds on to this believe to change its views in order to preserve one of nature's most amazing animals.
If not, the Rhino will just become another statistic created by human greed.
